Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with prior travel experience, scrub and circulate proficiency, and a CA RN license in hand for a 10-hour day shift assignment at an academic medical center in San Francisco.

Job Details

• Operating Room setting within a large academic teaching hospital,
• Handles a diverse surgical caseload including Otolaryngology/Head & Neck (OHNS), Craniotomy, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS), Plastic Surgery, Dental Surgery, combined Neurosurgery/OHNS procedures, open and endoscopic cases, and free flap reconstructive procedures,
• Day shift, 4x10-hour schedule with shift windows of 9:00-19:30 or 11:00-21:30,
• 1:1 patient ratio,
• Float requirement to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius may apply if the traveler meets the requisite job specifications,
• Charting via Epic (experience required),

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand required,
• BSN required,
• Current BLS (AHA) required,
• ACLS and CNOR preferred,
• Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required,
• Prior travel assignment experience required,
• Prior charge nurse experience required,
• Teaching hospital experience required,
• Proficiency in both scrub and circulate roles required,
• Epic EMR experience required,
• 2 references from most recent employer required for consideration,

• Local candidates are accepted and are subject to the same rates as travelers,
• Any prior employment with any University of California medical facility or affiliated/acquired facilities must be disclosed in employment history, including dates worked, units worked, and manager names, for a rehire eligibility check,
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; RTO requires manager approval at time of offer, no additional requests will be accepted mid-contract, and RTO may not fall within the first two weeks of the assignment,
• Travel pairs are permitted but will generally not be placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit,
• Pre-start orientation modules are required and may range from 1 to 24 hours depending on the unit and specialty; modules are non-billable,
• Preferred skills include a wide range of specialty surgical procedures across vascular, neurology, cardiovascular, plastics, urology, ENT, thoracic, transplant, robotics, and bariatric disciplines,
• Preferred equipment experience includes Cell Saver, Steris, and Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
