About the Role
The Company is in search of a Dean for its College of Education. The successful candidate will be a strategic and visionary leader, responsible for the academic and administrative management of the College. This includes developing and articulating a vision and strategic plan that aligns with the goals of the College and the broader University. The Dean will oversee budgetary needs, manage personnel matters, and promote excellence in teaching, research, and service. A key aspect of the role is to facilitate collaborative relationships with external stakeholders to support the education, research, and service needs of the region and beyond. The Dean will also be expected to serve on university committees, coordinate development and fundraising activities, and promote the visibility of the College. Applicants for the Dean position at the company's College of Education must have an earned Ph.D. or Ed.D., prior teaching experience in Pre-K-12 and/or higher education, and a record of scholarship, research, and service at the higher education level. The role requires excellent communication, strong technology skills, and the ability to manage a multi-unit, multi-disciplinary academic unit. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of pre-K-to-12 education, postsecondary education, and assessment in higher education. Practical experience with technology tools used in higher education and the ability to build consensus among faculty and staff are essential. The Dean will be expected to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously and to evaluate staff to promote ongoing professional development.
