Employee focused.JOB SUMMARYAn engineer within NGGP’s Infrastructure Planning group is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and advancing infrastructure growth. This team works with Commercial, Asset Engineering, Business Development Engineering, Supply Chain, and Major Projects Engineering, translating volume forecasts and commercial opportunities into executable, well scoped projects.Infrastructure Planning leads early stage project development by analyzing producer drilling activity, evaluating and tracking system volume forecasts, and identifying infrastructure needs related to compression, pipelines, and processing. The group supports project viability through economic analysis, funding justification, and budget forecasting while ensuring alignment with approved project charters and corporate financial processes.Key duties include facilitating producer volume tracking, project funding approvals, managing spend forecasts and lookbacks, maintaining equipment and material inventory strategies, and coordinating regularly with cross functional stakeholders. Infrastructure Planning plays a critical role in ensuring infrastructure solutions are appropriately sized, cost effective, and aligned with long term system optimization and commercial growth objectives.Job Profile SummaryPerforms intermediate level engineering and/or project management duties related to one or more functional areas that may include: pipeline system planning and analysis, gathering system operation, gas and liquids measurement, gas analysis, and measurement station design; processing and/or storage facility operation; and/or estimating, designing, and coordinating construction projects.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesDirect and/or perform engineering and/or project management activities related to design, procurement, construction, or optimization of company assets including but not limited to:Transmission and/or gathering systems, measurement and regulation facilities, compressor and pump stations and dehydration plantsNGL fractionation, natural gas processing and/or hydrocarbon storage facilitiesConstruction plans and implementationManagement of third-party contract resourcesProvide technical and/or engineering assistance on matters including but not limited to:Equipment/system designPipeline sizing and evaluationPipeline controlPipeline facility design, construction, operation, and maintenancePolicies and proceduresProcess SafetyPerform project management activities including but not limited to:Bid proposals and contractsAFE preparation and cost managementManagement of Change (MOC)Material/equipment specifications and selectionConstruction plans and supportCreating and updating schedules / timelinesPreparing project progress and other reportsManaging change ordersIdentify equipment efficiencies, complete hydraulic calculations, determine valve and pipeline sizing and perform gas flow analysisResearch, analyze, prepare and/or approve information including but not limited to:Engineering studiesGovernmental rules, regulations, codes and standardsPipeline and/or measurement system analyses and recommendationsHydrocarbon processing and/or measurement bid proposalsConstruction and/or measurement contractsCost estimatesMaterial specifications/selectionsAnalyze and /or provide support for various assets and make recommendations for improvements related to capacity, operating costs, and system operationEvaluate proposed projects by conducting load studiesEvaluate various measurement system designs and make recommendations for improvements related to station capacity and operating costs, to increase accuracy of measurement system and downstream reporting systemsPerform and/or provide support for economic analysis related to potential new projects, including but not limited to operational estimates, determining equipment efficiencies, and needed enhancements and conducting definitive studies for potential acquisitionsIdentify opportunities for improvement and assist with implementation of new processesEducationBachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field and the following job related experience preferredWork ExperienceExperience and training related analysesExperience in engineering design and knowledge of criteria for natural gas and/or NGLs in pipeline systemsExperience at this level is typically attained with four or more years of experience in engineering, operations and/or project managementExperience in use and function of applications such as: Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, etc.Experience researching and preparing project materials and design specifications, contracts, agreements, budgets, engineering studies, and other relevant reports, forms, and correspondenceExperience identifying, researching, understanding, evaluating, and prioritizing operational problems and coordinating appropriate action/responseKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of: pipelines or hydrocarbon processing and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenanceKnowledge of: material failure and structural analysis and industry standards and governmental regulationsAbility to: read and interpret governmental
