Dental Assistant Location: Cedar Rapids, IA 52402 | Full Time Glass Road Family Dentistry is looking for a driven, experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. Someone who is great with patients, takes initiative, and brings strong communication skills and a self-managing work ethic to everything they do will fit in great here. Clinical Responsibilities Assist across our complete scope of services: preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, family dentistry, dental implant restorations, dental prosthetics, oral surgery, root canal treatment, periodontal disease treatment, clear aligner treatment, mouth guards, fillings, and emergency dentistry Take and process digital X-rays and intraoral images in compliance with Iowa state regulations Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment following strict infection control protocols Prepare tray setups and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory, replenishing as needed Prepare materials for impressions and restorations Ensure patient comfort and provide calm, compassionate support before, during, and after every procedure Obtain dental histories and ensure health histories are updated for all returning patients Provide post-treatment and post-operative instructions and patient education on oral hygiene and home care Record patient charting and all doctor notes as directed by the doctor Track dental supply inventory and process orders as needed Prepare, enter, and track lab cases from submission through delivery Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in full compliance with HIPAA Front Desk & Administrative Support (as needed) Greet patients in person and via phone; check patients in for their appointments Assist with scheduling, treatment coordination, and filling schedule vacancies Process co-pays and assist patients with general practice or insurance questions Support billing and additional office tasks as directed What Makes You a Great Fit Iowa Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential preferred Completion of an approved Iowa radiation safety course and radiography training required per state regulations Current CPR certification required Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience preferred Bilingual in Spanish strongly encouraged to apply Calm, patient-centered presence that makes every patient feel genuinely welcomed and at ease Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients of all ages and backgrounds Exceptional attention to detail in clinical work, documentation, and operatory preparation Self-managing work ethic Ability to multitask confidently in a fast-paced environment Positive, collaborative team player who contributes to a warm and professional practice culture What We Offer Competitive wage commensurate with experience and credentials Medical, dental, and vision coverage options 401(k) with annual employer match Paid time off and paid holidays Access to a full suite of elective benefits Overjet AI-assisted imaging and state-of-the-art dental technology Broad clinical exposure across a full-service practice: preventive, restorative, cosmetic, implant restorations, oral surgery, root canal treatment, periodontics, clear aligners, and more A warm, patient-first team culture where colleagues and patients alike feel at home Continuing education support to keep your credentials and skills current Glass Road Family Dentistry is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all employees and patients. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cordental Group
