POSITION SUMMARY

The Shipping & Receiving Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient shipment of finished products by rail and truck, as well as the receipt of incoming materials. Key responsibilities include filling shipping orders based on work orders for van and bulk trucks, maintaining accurate warehouse inventory of finished goods and raw materials, and ensuring materials are available to meet production and customer requirements. This role is also responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring necessary shipping and receiving supplies are readily available. The Shipping & Receiving Operator works closely with production, logistics, and warehouse personnel to support daily operations and ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Schedule: Day Shift, Monday–Friday; Must be available to work overtime as needed. Starting Pay: $28.79 per hour

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

* Maintains compliance with all applicable Mandatory Minimum Standards Required within their area of responsibility. This includes adherence to environmental, health, and safety requirements such as air permits, wastewater permits, stormwater permits, and other regulatory requirements communicated by the Company. * Reports all Environmental, Health & Safety incidents, hazards, concerns, and near misses to management for timely resolution. * Obtains and reviews bills of lading for trucks and railcars to be loaded, ensuring materials are accurately matched to shipping documentation. * Verifies incoming and outgoing materials against appropriate paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer and company requirements. * Ensures all required shipping documentation, including CoAs, is processed accurately and provided to drivers upon departure, including after-hours shipments. * Loads finished products into van trailers, containers, and bulk trucks safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures. * Operates conveying systems and loading equipment to transfer material from silos into bulk trucks and railcars. * Performs bulk loading activities that require climbing stairs, accessing elevated platforms, and working at heights while utilizing appropriate fall protection and safety procedures. * Inspects pallets and packaged materials for damage, replacing broken or defective bags as necessary to ensure product quality. * Operates forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and stage finished products and raw materials. * Maintains accurate inventory records and inventory sheets to provide current information on available materials for shipment. * Receives and stores chemicals, raw materials, packaging supplies, and other incoming materials in designated storage areas. * Maintains packaging supplies in production areas to support uninterrupted operations.

• Stages LTL shipments and prepares orders for the following day's shipments.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including

warehouses, loading docks, truck loading areas, shipping offices, chemical storage areas, and surrounding workspaces. * Assists other departments as needed when shipping and receiving responsibilities are complete. * Follows all plant safety rules, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Must be able to lead CI meetings.
• Becomes familiar with and supports the site's Environmental Management

System, including understanding the potential consequences of deviating from established operating procedures. * Provides coverage for day-shift Shipping & Receiving personnel during scheduled absences, vacations, or other business needs. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SPECIALIZED/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE OR REQUIRED SKILLS

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend bills of lading, shipping

documents, work orders, and related operational paperwork. * Ability to safely operate a forklift and maintain forklift certification as required by Company policy. * Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use business software, access and respond to email, and complete required online training programs. * Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures, operating instructions, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and other regulatory or compliance-related documentation. * Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately verify shipping, receiving, and inventory information. * Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, drivers, and other departments. * Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and compliance with all environmental, health, and safety requirements. * Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

* Frequently stands, walks, climbs stairs and ladders, bends, stoops, reaches, and performs repetitive movements throughout the workday. * Regularly operates forklifts, industrial equipment, and material-handling machinery. * Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a routine basis. * Required to work at elevated heights, including accessing silos, loading platforms, and bulk-loading stations while utilizing appropriate fall protection equipment. * Works indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and is exposed to dust, noise, vibration, moving equipment, and industrial environments. * May occasionally work in confined spaces and around chemicals, raw materials, and other manufacturing-related substances. * Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection, hearing protection, fall protection, and other safety equipment as required.
