Hiring Qualifications The ability to stand, sit, and type extensively. Physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Ability to assist in lifting patients over 50 pounds. Confidence around pets of all types. Adaptability to a moderately high noise environment. Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions and solve complex problems. Ambulatory skills sufficient for hospital duties. Good hand‑eye coordination, arm‑hand‑finger dexterity, and visual acuity to operate equipment. Exposure to pets that may bite or scratch, and occasional exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications. Experience, Education And/or Training Minimum 1 year as licensed veterinary technician. Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and appropriate registration status in the state of employment. High school diploma plus further education. Excellent computer skills. Previous back‑ or front‑office experience preferred.
