The Opportunity

The Compensation Analyst , supports the development and design, implementation and administration, analysis, continuous improvement, and governance of Valvoline's compensation programs that enable the company to attract, motivate, develop, engage, and retain a qualified, talented, and diverse workforce.

Provides analytical and administrative support across a range of compensation programs and processes, including compensation planning, job evaluation and market pricing, annual pay increase programs, short and long-term incentive administration, Workday compensation data maintenance, pay governance, data audits and reporting, and other compensation-related projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Compensation Program Support: Support the administration, analysis, implementation, continuous improvement, and governance of compensation programs aligned with Valvoline’s compensation philosophy, business objectives, and compliance requirements.

• Compensation Planning and Administration: Support annual compensation planning, pay increase programs, incentive administration, data preparation, validation, reporting, and stakeholder follow-up.

• Job Evaluation and Market Pricing: Assist with job evaluation, salary grade review, market pricing, compensation survey participation, benchmarking, and internal pay alignment.

• Workday Compensation Data and Reporting: Maintain and validate compensation data in Workday, support audits, prepare reports, identify data issues, and partner with HR Operations or HR technology resources to resolve discrepancies.

• Compensation Analysis and Stakeholder Support: Partner with Total Rewards, HR, Finance, and business leaders to provide compensation insights, analytical support, and clear communication of findings and recommendations.

• Project, Process, and Governance Support: Support compensation-related projects, process improvements, documentation updates, pay governance activities, controls, and compliance-related follow-up.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.

• Two or more years of relevant professional experience in compensation, Human Resources analytics, finance, accounting, consulting, or another data-intensive business function.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop fact-based conclusions.

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, and data analysis.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Ability to handle employee and compensation information with appropriate confidentiality.

• Ability to work independently with general supervision and escalate complex matters appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Workday.

• Experience conducting compensation market pricing or participating in compensation surveys.

• Experience supporting annual compensation planning or variable pay programs.

• Familiarity with salary structures, salary grades, job evaluation, and internal pay alignment.

• Certified Compensation Professional designation or progress toward certification.

• Experience working in a public company, retail, multi-location, or geographically dispersed organization.
