Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Overview
Med Surg RN in Kodiak, Alaska. Start date: 08/03/2026. Travel - temporary assignment in an acute care Med Surg/Telemetry setting with Level IV Trauma and Critical Access Hospital designations. Weekly pay $1,820-$1,960. Guaranteed hours: 60 hours per 2 weeks. Shift: 3x12 hours (Rotating; start times may be Days or Nights, facility generally does not require routine rotation). This assignment occurs within a mixed-care setting that includes acute inpatient care, long-term care, and outpatient services. Housing is provided, typically a 1-bedroom unit. This position is managed through Healthforce Healthcare LLC.

- Interdisciplinary support available; on-site and telemedicine resources as needed

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg/Telemetry unit for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Monitor telemetry (unit and remote) and interpret dysrhythmias; respond to rhythm changes
- Administer IV therapies, including heparin and IV insulin protocols; manage IVs and central line care
- Administer blood products and participate in chest tube management and post-MI care as indicated
- Perform phlebotomy and coordinate with PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and rapid response
- Document care in Epic; ensure accurate, timely charting and patient safety; participate in daily rounds and discharge planning

Requirements
- Alaska RN license in hand for auto-offer (pending licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year Med Surg/Telemetry experience; telemetry experience referenced for unit
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Epic experience required
- COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs; length of stay and patient population include adolescents, adults, geriatrics
- First-time travelers accepted
