Plant Lean Leader

Responsibilities Assess current state performance, identify gaps, visualize and establish a plan for the future state, monitor progress and share best‑in‑class ideas and systems within the Johnson Controls Continuous Improvement & Production framework. Define, design and implement process improvements as part of the Johnson Controls Business System (JCBS), ensuring vertical and horizontal integration across the organization. Define improvement projects aligned with business strategies and priorities. Facilitate and coach improvement teams and plant staff, front‑line leaders, and associates in JCBS. Use kaizen funnel tracking and reporting systems to prepare detailed plans, drive project performance, and assure timely completion of transformational and continuous improvement projects. Collaborate with leadership to develop a plant Continuous Improvement Roadmap, driving breakthrough or best‑in‑class performance that balances internal plant efficiency and external customer‑focused projects. Assist Process Owners in identifying barriers to project success and driving changes when needed. Document improvement process learning and share best practices throughout AHU plants. Assist the Plant Manager with strategic initiatives to meet compliance standards, implement new systems, and design creative solutions for continuous improvement. Maintain accountability for delivering the plant’s annual goals and driving safety performance. Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum five years in Continuous Improvement and five years as an operational frontline leader. Demonstrated high‑level performance and initiative to drive change and exceed expectations. Solid leadership skills, capable of managing both vertically and horizontally. Basic statistical knowledge and ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects. Certification from a reputable lean leading organization preferred. Effective interpersonal skills and ability to exercise influence without authority. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and internet/email applications.
