Job Details: Location: Platte Counseling Center, 7190 Colorado Blvd, Ste 300, Commerce City, CO 80022. Position Type: Full‑time 1 FTE (40 hrs/wk). Education: ADN – Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor preferred). Salary: $36.56–$44.00 hourly. Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm. Category: Nursing. Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a compassionate, skilled Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Clinic team at the Platte Counseling Center in Commerce City. This full‑time role follows a consistent Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm (5x8) schedule. It provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care to adults living with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders. As a key member of our interdisciplinary Physician Operations team, you’ll play an essential role in medication management, patient monitoring, de‑escalation, and collaborative care planning—helping individuals remain connected to their families and communities. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, clinically confident, and thrives in complex environments, with strong nursing judgment and a collaborative mindset. An active Colorado RN license, current BLS certification, and prior psychiatric nursing experience are required. Essential Functions Support the clinical functions of the medical team (complete all medical orders and communicate vital patient care information to physician/prescriber). Perform nursing interventions for which an RN has been trained. Observe, identify and monitor patient condition, including changes in symptoms, and communicate findings to the treatment team. Administer injections and medications. Provide patient education for medication(s). Provide medical case management and other clinical interventions, as appropriate. Effectively respond to patient needs and problems; provide timely responses to messages and other requests. Coordinate prescription refills according to organization policy. Act as liaison to outside agencies and providers to ensure continuity of care for patients. Provide assistance in crisis intervention, as needed. Timely, accurately and completely chart interventions, lab results, medications dispensed, and all activities related to patient interactions according to organization procedures. Complete required education and training in a timely manner. Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner. Qualifications and Requirements Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. Active Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or equivalent out‑of‑state multi‑state/compact license with authority to practice in Colorado. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire. Minimum one year of relevant clinical experience preferred. Ability to administer medications and injections. Demonstrated ability in nursing assessment, including evaluation and interpretation of medical and behavioral health information. Knowledge and familiarity of nursing care management concepts and psychotropic medications. Advanced written and oral communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills, and efficient time management with multitasking ability. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team and collaborate with internal and external teams. Ability to learn and operate various software programs, including MS Word, MS Excel, and web‑based systems. Required Vaccination and TB Test All employees are required to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and present a negative TB test result before first day of work.
