Laboratory Manager

Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Bacteriology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or another scientific discipline. 8-10+ years of microbiology experience within Food & Beverage manufacturing. Proven leadership experience managing laboratory personnel and technical teams. Strong understanding of FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, environmental monitoring, and microbiological testing methodologies. Demonstrated success leading CAPA investigations, audit preparation, and regulatory compliance activities. Our client, a leading manufacturer within the food and consumer products industry, is seeking an experienced Microbiology Manager to lead all microbiological quality systems for a large-scale manufacturing facility. This leader will oversee laboratory operations, provide technical expertise on microbiological programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory and food safety standards while developing a high-performing team. In This Role, You Will Direct all microbiology laboratory operations supporting manufacturing and quality objectives. Provide technical leadership for microbiological testing of raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, environmental monitoring, and utility systems. Lead investigations involving microbiological issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Drive improvements in laboratory processes, testing methods, productivity, and overall operational performance. Oversee laboratory budgets, resource planning, and cost optimization initiatives. Serve as the site's technical authority for microbiology and partner with Quality, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain leadership. Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and internal quality assessments while ensuring ongoing compliance. Maintain laboratory documentation, testing protocols, and quality systems in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
