About the Role

Our client, a large utility organization, is seeking a Product Owner to lead an Agile development pod delivering analytics-driven capabilities across Customer Operations. The role will support expanding analytics initiatives in Credit & Collections, Contact Center, and Back Office operations.

This individual will own analytics use cases from business requirements through production delivery, partnering with business, data, analytics, engineering, and technology teams to turn operational challenges into practical solutions. The focus is on product ownership and measurable business value;
hands-on data science or data engineering experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

· Serve as Product Owner for an Agile development pod delivering analytics-enabled capabilities for Customer Operations.

· Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges, customer journeys, workflows, and desired outcomes.

· Translate business needs into clear product requirements, epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

· Develop and maintain a roadmap for assigned analytics use cases and prioritize the backlog based on business value, customer impact, technical dependencies, and delivery priorities.

· Work with data, analytics, engineering, and technology teams to move use cases from concept through implementation and production delivery.

· Support prioritization and tradeoff decisions throughout the development lifecycle.

· Develop a working understanding of Customer Operations datasets, including Oracle Customer Care and Billing (CC&B), and identify data requirements for new use cases.

· Partner with data teams to understand data availability, quality, relationships, limitations, and integration dependencies across enterprise and niche systems.

· Lead and participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

· Ensure the development pod has clear requirements and priorities;
remove or escalate blockers and manage dependencies across teams.

· Review delivered functionality against acceptance criteria and coordinate user acceptance testing and stakeholder feedback.

· Communicate delivery progress, risks, and dependencies to business and technical stakeholders.

· Use stakeholder feedback, analytics, and delivery results to improve products and processes and establish repeatable approaches to analytics delivery.

· Ensure delivered capabilities address the intended business problem and provide measurable operational value.

Required Qualifications

· At least 3 years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, Business Product Owner, or in a similar role.

· Demonstrated ownership of analytics or data-driven use cases from business requirements through implementation.

· Experience leading or working with an Agile development pod and using Agile product management methodologies and tools.

· Strong roadmap and backlog management skills, including writing epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

· Experience working with data, analytics, reporting, or business intelligence teams to deliver business capabilities.

· Experience working with enterprise data from multiple sources or systems.

· Ability to translate business problems and analytical concepts into actionable requirements for technical teams.

· Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills across business and technology functions.

· Ability to quickly learn complex enterprise datasets, systems, and operational processes.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience supporting Customer Service, Customer Operations, Contact Center, Credit & Collections, or Back Office functions.

· Experience with Oracle CC&B or a comparable utility or customer information system.

· Experience integrating data from enterprise or niche systems.

· Experience with customer analytics, operational analytics, business intelligence, or data products.

· Experience in utilities, telecommunications, financial services, or other complex enterprise environments.

· Familiarity with cloud-based analytics environments.
