Quality Inspector

Manthei Wood Products is seeking detail-oriented Quality Inspectors / Hardwood Veneer Panel Graders to evaluate and grade veneer sheets and panels based on appearance, grain characteristics, and overall quality. This role plays a key part in determining product value and ensuring materials meet company and customer standards. The ideal candidate has strong visual inspection skills, consistency in judgment, and an appreciation for wood products. Full-time positions available on both 1st (6:00 am - 2:00 pm) and 2nd shifts (2:00 pm - 10:00 pm), Monday - Friday. What You’ll Do Inspect hardwood veneer sheets and panels for grain pattern, color variation, knots, splits, and other defects Grade materials according to established company and industry standards Sort and categorize veneer by quality and value Ensure consistency and accuracy in grading decisions Communicate quality concerns to production and leadership teams Maintain a clean and organized work area Attendance is a necessary job function Follow all safety procedures and guidelines Learn and perform other production related duties as needed What We’re Looking For Strong attention to detail and visual accuracy Ability to make consistent, objective quality assessments Ability to stand for extended periods and handle materials Basic math and counting skills Good communication and teamwork skills Previous quality inspection or grading experience preferred but not required Experience in wood products, lumber, veneer or manufacturing environments preferred but not required Manufacturing/production setting Exposure to wood dust and varying temperatures Physical activity including standing, lifting, and material handling Why Join Us Opportunity to learn a specialized and valuable skill Hands-on role in a growing wood products operation Training provided for motivated candidates Manthei Wood Products is an equal opportunity employer; everyone is encouraged to apply.
