Archer Western Construction is currently seeking a Pipe Layer for the Central Water Group /SAWS Meadow Springs Water Production Facility, in San Antonio, Texas. The Pipe Layer will perform pipe-laying tasks involving physical labor (laying, joining, wrapping, sealing) on construction jobsites including commercial, industrial, or heavy civil projects; may operate hand and/or power tools as needed; may prepare site and assist with other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Lays, joins, aligns, wraps, and seals pipe sections, clay, concrete, and other types of pipe for water/gas main, sanitary sewer, telephone/electrical conduits Ability to work with crew members and operate a variety of hand and power tools including drills, hammers, and other tools as directed by management Ability to perform tasks including physical labor as instructed by supervisor Qualifications 1 Year Verifiable Experience Preferred Requires ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions Requires the ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures; communicate effectively with co‑workers and supervisors to ensure projects are completed properly Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn Requires good manual dexterity; may be standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screening The Walsh Group, Ltd. is committed to providing equal opportunity to qualified applicants with disabilities to compete for jobs.
