Our client is a private equity-backed consumer products company with both manufacturing and branded operations. Its products are sold nationally through retail and e-commerce channels, and it is in an active growth phase.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The company is seeking a hands-on Interim Controller to provide temporary coverage for its current Controller. The engagement begins on a part-time basis through year-end, focused on knowledge transfer and close support, then moves to full time in the new year for the duration of the coverage period.

The Interim Controller will own the month-end close across a business with meaningful manufacturing complexity. This is a hands-on role working alongside an experienced team and partnering closely with the CFO in a PE-backed environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the month-end close process end to end
• Close the books directly, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and flux analysis
• Lead cost accounting, including inventory valuation, standard costing, variance analysis, and COGS
• Review the work of the accounting team and guide them through close deliverables
• Coordinate with outsourced accounting support
• Prepare monthly financial reporting for leadership and the private equity sponsor
• Support cash flow modeling and forecasting as needed
• Transition smoothly with the current Controller to ensure continuity

QUALIFICATIONS

• Controller-level experience with hands-on ownership of the month-end close
• Strong cost accounting background in a manufacturing environment - essential
• Consumer products or CPG experience preferred
• PE-backed company experience preferred
• Cash flow modeling experience a plus
• CPA preferred
• Comfortable stepping in quickly and working hands-on with a lean team
• Available to begin part-time immediately and commit full time in Q1
