Sr. Accountant

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial information and reporting. This position mainly focuses on content costs, residuals, and ancillary distribution of content.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations and Close

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Investigate and explain actual trend variances and actual vs. forecast variances.
• Perform internal controls and ensure proper documentation.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, schedules and responding to inquiries.
• Work with other departments, such as IT, operations and marketing on accounting and reporting matters.
• Participate in process improvements and system enhancements.
• Support special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed.

Finance Partnership

• Coordinate with FP&A on budget-to-actual and forecast-to-actual comparisons.
• Collaborate with FP&A on budgets and forecasts.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience (mix of public and industry preferred).
• Some knowledge of internal controls and framework.
• Strong communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel.

Compensation

$80,000 - $90,000
