Teacher OF The Visually Impaired

Teacher of the Visually Impaired Needed! We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired to provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, helping them achieve academic success and independence. Part time in person 5.5 hours per week and 2 hours per month consult at a school in Stoughton, MA. Key Responsibilities Assess the needs of students with visual impairments and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Provide direct instruction in braille, orientation and mobility, and the use of assistive technology Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to create inclusive learning environments Monitor and evaluate student progress, adjusting instruction as needed Conduct assessments and maintain accurate documentation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Visual Impairment, or a related field; Master's degree preferred State certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Experience working with students with visual impairments Knowledge of braille and assistive technologies Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to design and implement effective instructional strategies tailored to visual impairments Commitment to fostering independence and academic achievement in students Benefits 1099 contract $100 per hour Boston Speech Therapy is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to compliance with all federal, state, and local laws regarding equal employment opportunity.
