About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 4:1 at grid (5:1 stretched)
• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace management
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, lumbar drains, and IV infusions
• Assist with feeding tube placement and blood transfusions
• Operate unit equipment including IV pumps, Skylift, patient lifts, and document care using Cerner EMR
• Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed; adhere to navy blue scrub dress code

• Active RN license valid in North Carolina (or compact eligibility)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a PCU, stepdown, or similar acute care setting
• Demonstrated neuro and trauma care experience - candidates without this experience will not be considered

• Strong background in neuro and trauma care in a progressive or stepdown environment
• Experience with lumbar drains, chest tubes, and PCA pump management
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care delivery
