Registered Nurse - LWR Cardiology at Manatee Physician Alliance Bradenton, FL

Location Lakewood Ranch, FL – On-site position – local candidates. Position Summary The Registered Nurse – Practice (RN) is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. The RN is responsible for interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedures as directed by the physician. Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response. Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act. Refers to and consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent and resolve problems or concerns. The RN educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing education program. Licensed by the State to practice as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS/CPR certification required. Work experience: Minimum of one to three (1-3) years working as a Registered Nurse required. Three to five (3-5) years of related experience preferred. Knowledge: General medical office procedures. Knowledge of medical documentation requirements for meeting quality incentives. Shared Decision Making. Patient Centered Medical Home principles. Skills: Critical thinking, problem solving. Teamwork. Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office. Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Abilities: Operate within the concept of patient centered care. Ability to coach and mentor clinical and non-clinical staff. Ability to work both independently and in teams. Must be able to perform courteously and professionally in all interactions. Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment (laptop computer, fax, copier scanner). EKG machine. Work environment: Works in a well lighted, OSHA Standard environment.
