Physical Therapy Aide (FGP) Brooklyn Heights - Physical Therapy Allied Health → Rehabilitation Therapy Brooklyn, NY ID: 1160149_RR00118042 Full-Time/Regular Position Summary: This role supports the delivery of physical therapy services as part of the clinical team. Initiative: volunteers assistance, simplifies work practices, demonstrates desire to learn. Judgment/Decision making: seeks information, follows instructions, monitors patient condition changes. Patient transportation: transports patients safely following guidelines. Clerical and reception activities: answers telephone, maintains records, performs errands promptly. Surveillance of environmental conditions: follows safety, infection control, pest control procedures, identifies hazards. Maintenance of supplies, equipment, and the unit: monitors inventory, notifies supervisor, maintains equipment, prepares unit for treatment. Patient Preparation: assists patient for and after treatment, monitors safety and comfort, supports toileting, dressing, and undressing. Assists in treatment: follows therapist instructions, exercise programs, positioning guidelines, ambulation training, and hydrotherapy as directed. Application of transfer activities: advises patient, uses proper techniques and body mechanics. Application of cold and/or heat modalities: administers modalities, follows protocol, and ensures safety. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma; ability to communicate well with staff and patients and follow instructions. Preferred qualifications: Prior experience in Physical Therapy (preferred but not required). Qualified candidates must effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
