Job Details Setting: Level III NICU Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse / Travel RN Start Date: October 12, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Schedule: 12-hour night shifts Hours Per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 - $1,940 Location: Charlottesville, VA 22908 Unit Focus: Care for neonates and infants with a wide range of complex medical and surgical needs Orientation: 36 hours Floating: Required to L&D, Mother/Baby, Pediatrics, and PICU within scope of practice Job Requirements At least 2 years of NICU nursing experience required Full-time Level III NICU experience required; Level IV NICU experience strongly preferred Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or pending Virginia license accepted prior to start BLS and NRP required at time of submission Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required, or must be in progress/pending at submission Epic charting experience required BSN preferred Experience with high-acuity neonatal care and advanced respiratory support strongly preferred Must be comfortable working rotating holiday and weekend coverage requirements Responsibilities Provide expert nursing care to critically ill neonates and infants in a busy Level III NICU Monitor and manage infants requiring high-frequency ventilation, conventional ventilation, CPAP/BiPAP, NIPPV/NIMV, and iNO therapy Support IV fluid management, drips, hemodynamic support, medication calculations, and neonatal dosage accuracy Assist with admissions, IV placement, lab draws, wound and drain care, ostomy care, and line management Care for patients receiving whole-body cooling, post-operative recovery, and complex cardiac or congenital conditions Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and more Float to related maternal-child and pediatric areas as needed within scope and unit expectations Deliver safe, compassionate, family-centered care while maintaining strong clinical judgment in a high-acuity environment Apply now to take the next step in your Virginia nursing job and join a dedicated healthcare team supporting the most vulnerable patients in Charlottesville.
