RN - ICU

Neuro RN - Night Shift - 36 Hours

This is a 13-week contract position.

3x12 Hour Night Shift (19:00 - 07:30); every other weekend and holidays required.

We are seeking a Neuro RN to provide critical care for patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients in the Neuro ICU, utilizing specialized equipment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients with various neurological conditions, including acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and traumatic brain injury.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as ICP monitors, external ventricular drains, and continuous EEG.
• Administer medications and manage ventilator settings as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
• Perform comprehensive neurological assessments and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• 2 years of nursing experience in a Neuro ICU preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of Maryland or compact state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; CPI and NIHSS preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
