The selected individual will assist with daily material handling, office moves, loading/unloading of shipments, light maintenance, and transportation of personnel and goods among multiple BFS locations in Maryland and Washington, DC.This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a professional demeanor while working in federal office environments.Primary Work LocationsBureau of Engraving & Printing Warehouse (Landover Warehouse) 3201 Pennsy Dr., Landover, MD 20785Metro 1 (Hyattsville) 6505 Belcrest Rd., Hyattsville, MD 20782U.S. Mint Headquarters (9th Street Location) 801 9th St NW, Washington, DC 20220Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in loading and unloading shipments for Fiscal Service facilities.Move and distribute materials, furnishings, and equipment within office spaces.Respond to internal requests for relocation of materials, furniture, and equipment as directed.Prepare and ship excess property and bulk trash to the warehouse.Assemble furniture, fixtures, and office equipment.Perform minor repairs and maintenance, including: Replacing light bulbs and fixture covers.Adjusting or reconfiguring office systems furniture.Installing small furnishings and signage.Removing and installing small sections of floor coverings.Conduct daily checks on government-leased vehicles; clean and refuel as needed.Provide shuttle transportation for BFS staff to meetings within the DC metropolitan area.Replenish common-use items such as toner, copier paper, sanitizing wipes, and hand sanitizer.Escort vendor staff (e.g., Citron Hygiene) during scheduled hygiene servicing.Assist Records Management staff with shredding sensitive files and documents.Complete work orders/tickets as assigned and notify supervisor upon completion.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (preferred).Valid drivers license required (especially for 9th Street location duties).Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the workday.Experience in moving, loading/unloading, or facilities support preferred.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions accurately.Must be able to pass a background check for access to federal facilities.Compensation & BenefitsStarting pay: $18.44/hourHealth & Welfare benefit: $4.93/hourPaid federal holidaysPaid time off and other eligible benefits per contract DHD Consulting
