Weld Team Lead

Buyers Products company, a leading manufacturer in the work truck industry, is searching for a Weld Team Lead for at Tracom that will be responsible for safety, quality and production along with working with team members, cross functional support teams and management to improve people and processes in Weld. Primary Job Duties Enforce safety protocols and procedures Ensure proper use of PPE Execution of Safety Toolbox Talks Compliance with Quality Standards and Procedures First Piece and in process quality inspections Identifying and resolving weld defects, red tag defective parts, disposition of defective parts Follow and reinforce Quality Standards, standard work instructions, and procedures to team members Production responsibilities Assign tasks to welders based on skills and project requirements Communicate and work with team members to ensure they are meeting or exceeding expectations of jobs Update Hour by Hour production Boards / Vorne Production Boards Minimizing production downtime by escalating any issues to the supervisor immediately Assist the supervisor in managing the daily expectations are being met to accomplish throughput goals for the shift Drive housekeeping and 5S in the weld department Ability to identify opportunities for improvement in team members, layouts, fixturing, and weld processes Participate in the development and creation of training plans for associates Audit and maintain paperwork – Work Order accuracy, schedule attainment, production logs Executing daily schedule Coordinate communication between welders, grinders, robot techs and material handlers Evaluate changes necessitated by material and/or machine availability Training new employees Skills/ Experience Ability to read, understand and interpret Weld Blueprints Experience with manual and Robot Welding in Stainless Steel – preferred Proficiency in various welding processes Applicable experience in a high-volume production manufacturing environment Ability to identify and resolve problems Ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams Basic computer skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Previous role in leadership preferred Education Background HS Diploma or GED Welding certifications preferred Physical Requirements and Work Environment Standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time Mobility and dexterity to move around operating machinery and powered industrial equipment Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to operate power tools and vibrating equipment Ability to work on site to physically support manufacturing requirements #J-18808-Ljbffr Buyers Products
