Job Title: Field Engineer/Construction Inspector Location: 1020 Metropolitan Avenue, Leavenworth, Kansas 66048 Pay Range: $100K - $130K/year plus benefits Client: Federal Bureau of Prisons Project Name: FCI Leavenworth Prison Project Duration: 1 to 1.5 years Anticipated Start Date: October 2026 Project Details (Size, SOW, Site Background, Etc.) Size of Project: $460M SOW: Provide construction inspection services in support of a construction management team, FBOP Owner representatives and other stakeholders. APSI is currently seeking a Construction Project Engineer / Inspector to be part of an Owner's agent (CMa) team in support of the FBOP in Leavenworth, Kansas during the Closeout and Activation phase of the FCI Leavenworth project. This is a Full-Time position starting in October for 1 – 1.5 years. The FE / Inspector will be an essential part of the CMa team and will provide sound and proactive management advice to BOP to ensure project deliverables and all BOP standards are met. The FE / Inspector shall have full understanding of the project contract documents, BOP and end user goals and requirements as validated by the CO. The FE / Inspector shall effectively monitor, assess, coordinate, and inspect the construction work of the contractor on behalf of BOP and work with the team to maintain current facility systems functionality, manage warranty contractors, coordinate training and activation activities for the BOP. Daily Responsibilities Maintain excellent relationships with BOP client representatives, contractors and other project stakeholders Provide daily site inspections to verify functionality of operational systems, coordinate work of warranty contractors with stakeholders and ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and codes Coordinate in the field with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, designers, and regulatory agencies Prepare daily reports Review and report on contractor schedule progress Estimate, review and advise on the accuracy and legitimacy of contractor submitted change orders Coordinate 3rd-party testing and inspections Maintain project records Manage project photographic records Verification of equipment or furniture installations Report on project issues and provide status updates Perform other duties as may be required Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, Etc.) Shall have a High school diploma and a minimum of 5 years of construction contract administration and inspection experience, serving in a QA/QC role inspecting various types of construction scope of work, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The Field Engineer / Inspector should have specialized training and experience providing similar services on projects of comparable complexity Shall have knowledge of OSHA safety regulations with 30HR OSHA Safety card (prior to start) Shall be proficient with various software including Microsoft Office software and the ability to create and edit Microsoft word and excel files. Shall be proficient with Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam and be able to create and edit .pdf documents. Experience with project management document control software a plus Experience reviewing and evaluating change orders, pay applications, schedules and other construction documentation Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required Ability to bring assignments to completion independently Ability to work well with others, and a willingness to learn in a team environment Proven record of accomplishments as an inspector on a variety of construction projects Shall be a US Citizen Preferred Qualifications Experience with Construction Management software such as Kahua or Procore Experience as an inspector or project engineer on government projects #J-18808-Ljbffr
