Senior Developer & FMS Specialist
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid On‑Site Support)
We are seeking a Senior Financial Management Systems Developer to support a federal client in Washington, DC. This role leads the development, administration, and support of the Financial Management System (FMS) while contributing to broader enterprise application development efforts within the EPMO HUB. The position blends full‑stack development, database management, system administration, and user support to ensure strong system performance, data integrity, and smooth operations. Success in this role requires a proactive, self‑directed professional with excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and enhancement of FMS application functionality
- Support HUB and FMS application updates, integrations, and system components
- Manage relational databases, including data models, maintenance, and optimization
- Conduct requirements analysis to ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs
- Oversee user accounts, access controls, and day‑to‑day system administration
- Provide technical support and training to system users
- Maintain system documentation and training materials
- Support production server maintenance, deployments, updates, and environment management
- Perform database backups, updates, and operational tasks
- Assist with financial data reporting and analysis
- Handle SSL certificate renewals and IIS web server configuration
- Troubleshoot issues, support testing, and implement approved enhancements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related IT field
- 10+ years of IT experience, including complex software and database solution design
- Strong background in application development and operations
- Proven experience with relational databases and data modeling
- Experience with requirements validation, system administration, and user support
- Ability to create training materials and conduct user training
- Deep understanding of the full system development lifecycle
- Required technical skills: ASP.NET, C#, .NET, SQL, SQL Server, Crystal Reports, Visual Studio, SSL processes, IIS
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences
