Receive 17% Weekday Nights, 26% Weekend Nights and 15% Weekend Day shift differentialsThe Pain Consultation and Treatment Center is a multidisciplinary team of specialists, which include APP's, Pharmacist Clinicians, Physical Therapists, Myofascial Specialists, Interventionalists, Addiction Medicine specialists, Behavioral Health Specialists, Registered Nurses, and Medial Assistants. In the Pain clinic, we take a team approach to patient care and pain management. The RN is responsible for intrathecal pump refills, surgical coordination, monitoring patients during interventional procedures, telephone triage, and pre and post-procedure education. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups.Detailed responsibilities:PATIENT CARE - Perform all RN Nursing duties. Assist in specialty clinic; triage patients as necessary in daily walk-in clinicPATIENT CARE - Coordinate all activities of the specialty related to patient carePATIENT CARE - Serve as liaison between patient/family and various members of the health care teamPATIENT CARE - Counsel and teach families regarding medical conditions, diagnostic procedures, medication control, and other interventionsPATIENT CARE - Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of services to provide optimal care for the patient within the specialty patient area with specialty surgical proceduresCOORDINATION - Collaborate with other members of the specialty team about the candidacy of potential patientsPROGRAMS - Participate in programs and committees related to the specialty or as directedEDUCATION - Conduct professional and public speaking engagements for educational and public relations purposesTRAINING - Participate in educational opportunities and workshops associated with the area specialtyREPORTS - Provide statistical reports as neededSCHEDULES - As directed rotates on call including holiday, nights and weekendsEVALUATIONS - Review daily lab and diagnostic work on specialty work-up to assist in the direction of the specialty evaluationEDUCATION - Direct and coordinate educational activities for hospital employees regarding specialty surgeries; assist physician with research projects related to specialty surgeriesPATIENT CARE - Collaborate with community physicians on the daily care of specialty patientPATIENT CARE - Coordinate diagnostic procedures for complications that occur after specialty surgery in consultation with physicianPATIENT CARE - Direct the management of patient care caseload pre and post operative to provide continuity for the specialty patient and their familiesPOLICY & PROCEDURE - Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and quality assurance programsPOLICY AND PROCEDURES - Provide input and assist in the formulation of departmental policies and procedures and budget as requestedPATIENT SAFETY 1 - Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocolsPATIENT SAFETY 2 - Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processesPATIENT SAFETY 3 - Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue riskPATIENT SAFETY 4 - Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely mannerPATIENT SAFETY 5 - Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"PATIENT CENTERED MED - Adhere to and promote the core expectations of the Patient Centered Medical Home or Patient Centered Specialty Practice as applicableQualificationsEducation:Essential:Program GraduateNonessential:Bachelor's DegreeEducation specialization:Essential:Nationally Accredited Nursing GraduateNonessential:NursingExperience:Essential:3 years directly related experienceNonessential:Bilingual English/Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or NavajoCredentials:Essential:RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NMCPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 daysPhysical Conditions:Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. xhyhwjd Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.Working conditions:Essential:Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE May work rotating shifts, holidays and weekends Tuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as requiredSign-On Bonus AvailableRelocation Assistance AvailableDepartment: Registered Nurse
