Please indicate your availability when applying for this position.Job Description:Teaches a variety of hospitality management courses with emphasis on Food/Service Management such as Introduction to Hospitality, Sanitation and Safety, Customer Service, Cost Control, Hospitality Purchasing, Fundamentals of Restaurant/Foodservice Management, Dining Room Operations, Beverage Management, Restaurant Marketing, Restaurant/Foodservice Entrepreneurship.Prepares and delivers learning activities in order to achieve course outcomesPrepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handoutsEvaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, papers, and examinationsMaintains and submits student attendance records, grades and other required documentation by specified deadlinesBe available to students for coachingPeriodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and developmentRequired Qualifications:Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business, or related field with 5 years of industry experience in a supervisory or managerial role in full service food service operations; substantial and related work experience may be equivalent to a degreeServSafe certification; proficient in related industry softwareDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent)Advanced communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skillsAppropriately responds to the needs of the communityPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Education or related field with 5 years of recent industry experience in a full-service restaurant or foodservice establishment at a supervisory levelCertified Hospitality Educator (CHE)Teaching or training experience in food service or related fields at the college or vocational/technical level with skills in curriculum design, instructional methods, evaluation and assessment; proficient in presentation software and spreadsheet programsIn order to be considered for an Adjunct faculty position, these additional documents are required to be uploaded: Unofficial transcript & license/certifications (Based on requirements outlined in posting).Special Note: This is a Part-Time Faculty position, with the following set rate of pay: $951/Equated Semester Unit (ESU)Special Instructions to Applicants: During the application process, you may be required to attach a cover letter and/or resume.
