Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position requiring 2+ years of experience and a WV or Compact RN license.

Details

• data-type=array> Med/Surg unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), including weekdays and weekends
• 13-week contract with possible extension
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Blocked schedule requests cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated when possible
• No scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted for submission)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), all through AHA
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Minimum 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
• Travel experience not required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to a Med/Surg population including gastrointestinal, respiratory, neurological, cardiovascular, and renal cases
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, wound care, tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and cardiac monitoring
• Facility expects no more than 2-3 call-offs per contract due to recent attendance concerns
• Non-billable Cerner training modules required prior to start, averaging 8 hours to complete
• Orientation is held every other Monday
• Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility, with those between 75-100 miles considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last date of permanent employment before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
