Team Leader

To help us continue to grow, we’re in search of a Team Leader who will guide and support team members of the operation, ensuring timely execution of ideas, continuous improvement, and exemplary customer service. Responsibilities Provide hands‑on leadership through ongoing coaching and training of hourly employees. Coach team members to identify Value Added (VA) and Non‑Value Added (NVA) activities and set goals to eliminate NVA. Assist in initial and ongoing training of all new employees on equipment, daily priorities, standard work, procedures, paperwork, and information board updates. Coach associates to follow policies and procedures, including safe work practices, time management, plant policies, and quality assurance. Document and communicate coaching outcomes to supervisors if improvement is not achieved. Provide input in the evaluation and development of team members. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and other supervisors to identify improvement areas and solve problems. Maintain open communication with team members regarding safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and other operational concerns. Facilitate cross‑training and fill in for absent members, providing coverage during continuous improvement activities. Execute production schedule and maintain an hour‑by‑hour chart. Monitor and maintain supplies and materials; create work orders for maintenance as needed. Attend department meetings to discuss customer requirements, scheduled work, and quality. Address quality concerns or defects that arise. Conduct training sessions to raise awareness and resolve issues. Lead continuous improvement projects and create standard work sheets. Ensure a safe working environment by keeping areas clean and orderly and maintaining 6S standards. Take an active role in plant‑wide safety: complete incident reports, attend reenactments, and follow corrective actions. Qualifications High School diploma or GED equivalency required; Certificate and/or AAS preferred. Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or related role within the department or similar product line. Excellent work performance, reliability, and punctuality. Willingness to work extended hours, overtime, and weekends as required. Demonstrated leadership skills, influencing others without direct authority and mentoring team members. Strong technical competency and mechanical aptitude within the assigned work area. Problem‑solving skills, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement mindset. Exposure to lean manufacturing principles is a plus. Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong work ethic. Interpersonal, teamwork, and collaborative skills; positive attitude and willingness to learn. Proficiency with computers, MS Office, and SAP. Effective verbal and written communication in English. Ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities. Physical demand: regular hand use, reaching, talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
