Construction Project Manager

About the Role Plante Moran Realpoint (PMR) is seeking a dynamic Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee large‑scale senior living projects and programs for corporate and institutional clients. The role requires engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, managing vendors, budgets, and schedules, and ensuring compliance with PMR policies and industry best practices. Responsibilities Provide program leadership by working with existing clients. Collaborate directly with clients to oversee multiple vendors and client stakeholders involved in designing and constructing the program, including procuring vendors (A/E, constructors, etc.). Manage the program to ensure adherence to budget and schedule, and align with project objectives. Advise on program risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Offer guidance on best practices and industry standards for contracting methods, program scheduling, and budget decisions. Provide advice on issue resolution in line with project objectives. Interact, coordinate, and communicate effectively with all levels of client management and support staff. Attend and participate in meetings with the client, architect, contractors, and other professional service providers. Review vendor invoices, billings, and pay applications to ensure compliance with the program budget and lender procedures. Evaluate design and construction issues, RFIs, and submittals throughout construction of the program. Prepare and deliver presentations to clients as requested, including regular project updates. Work within an internal team to ensure the implementation and compliance of P&M and PMR policies and procedures on projects. Qualifications Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management degree from an accredited institution. 8+ years of building, design, and construction experience, including project management, construction administration, or field management. Experience on large‑scale residential, commercial, or institutional projects. Understanding of the design process that drives scope and budget development. Desirable: Construction cost estimating experience, experience with vertical construction, and experience with senior living or multi‑family housing design/construction. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Bluebeam, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project. Qualified candidates must reside in or near the Chicago area or be willing to relocate. Work Expectations Site visits and in‑person client meetings 1–2 days per week. Occasional overnight travel up to 25% of time.
