Endoscopy Support Specialist I

Working Location : New Jersey, Newark; New York, Manhattan; New York, Queens Workplace Flexibility : Field Job Description The Endoscopy Support Specialist I is responsible for obtaining core product, service, and operational knowledge during initial training. The role involves completing designated customer service training, providing customer endoscopy support activities, and attending a structured curriculum that includes classroom instruction and hands‑on equipment practice. The specialist will learn and implement repair service strategies within a discreet territory, assisting customers in reducing service contract costs, supporting contract renewals, and increasing repair service market share. The position requires daily interaction with key customers, clinicians, researchers and decision makers, with travel to customer facilities and on‑site support. Job Duties Acquire experience supporting targeted customers, sales representatives, field service engineers, repair personnel, and other corporate personnel to deliver high‑level customer support and endoscopy service satisfaction. Provide solutions for endoscopy equipment service problems, assist customers with repair reduction, and build relationships based on trust, loyalty, and satisfaction. Secure and grow service repair business through promotion of service contracts for endoscopes, video electronics, and reprocessing equipment. Support service contract business by performing inspections, audits, and outreach to non‑contract customers. Conduct customer educational visits, diagnose equipment care issues, and provide training to maintain equipment per Olympus standards. Establish rapport with key decision makers and support their service requirements, leveraging relationships to grow the service business. Maintain knowledge of endoscopy equipment applications through structured training, self‑study, and corporate materials. Analyze repair cost utilization reports, review contract performance, and advise customers on asset management to improve utilization and reduce repair costs. Demonstrate repeatable equipment demonstrations and conduct in‑service programs in compliance with standards. Maintain a communication schedule with management and update service records. Maintain assigned assets including laptop, mobile devices, and demo equipment. Submit required field activity documentation, including itineraries, service reports, and expense reports accurately and on time. Perform additional assigned duties to meet job responsibilities beyond the training period. Qualifications – Required Valid driver's license and ability to manage and report on use of company fleet vehicle or rental car. Flexibility to work irregular hours. Ability to travel overnight by automobile or air for customer needs. Pass the Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocess (CFER) exam within one year of employment or earlier if prior reprocessing experience exists. Self‑starter capable of following management direction with minimal supervision. Technology literate (Microsoft Office, iPhone/iPad). Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including public speaking. High level of personal organization and independent work ethic. Strong customer interaction and service support ability. Decision‑making and resolution management skills. Ability to perform under pressure and communicate solutions to customers. Understanding of business policies and practices. Multi‑tasking ability. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree or surgical technician certification/degree, or enrollment in an accredited program. 1–3 years of clinical experience supporting patient care or equipment in endoscopy, hospital, or ambulatory surgery settings. 1–3 years of field‑based medical device support experience.
