Job Description We are looking for a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to work at a Plasma Donation Center under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. The role focuses on donor eligibility, adverse event management, laboratory result review, and health & safety compliance within the plasma collection industry. About the Role The successful candidate will: determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history, physical examination, and blood testing; evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for emergencies; communicate unacceptable findings to donors and provide guidance on medical or technical issues; support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees; manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health; and, when authorized, act as a Pandemic Coordinator and investigate local community threats. How You Will Contribute Assess donor eligibility, manage informed consent, and conduct medical history interviews. Perform physical exams, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE) results. Evaluate donor reactions, follow SOPs for medical emergencies, and support emergency care transportation. Notify donors or medical affairs of unacceptable findings and provide guidance on medical or technical matters. Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance when necessary. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and investigate pandemic threats. What You Bring to Takeda High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate-level nursing education and state licensure. Active licensure or certification in the state of assignment (e.g., EMT‑P). Current CPR and AED certification. State-required IV therapy license. Completion of FDA‑approved training for a BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation and Benefits U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32–$33.44. The actual hourly wage will be based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location and will meet state or local minimum wage requirements.
