CNC Mill & Lathe Setup Operator
We are hiring an experienced CNC Setup Operator for a precision machining facility specializing in aerospace and defense components. This is a hands-on role requiring strong setup and operation skills on both mill and lathe equipment.
What You'll Do:
- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes - primarily Mazak equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, and technical data
- Load, edit, and proof programs; hand-edit as needed to correct errors
- Select and mount tooling, set speeds, feeds, and cutting depth
- Inspect parts using micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges
- Maintain SPC charts when required
- Produce CNC programs in less complex situations using CAM software
- Keep work area, machines, and tooling clean and properly maintained
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum 4 years of CNC setup and operation experience
- Mazak experience required
- Proficiency on both mill and lathe
- Ability to read blueprints and work from technical documentation
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- CAM programming experience a plus
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing background a plus
- Trade school or vocational training preferred
