Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg

Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Schedule: Shift: Nights; option of 36 or 48 hours/week Every other weekend required (6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks)

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year RN experience
• Valid nursing license (OK or Compact)
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Experience in MS/Telemetry, telemetry monitoring, and post-procedure care
• IV access/maintenance skills, including peripheral IVs, PICC lines, and central line blood draws
• Ability to manage dysrhythmias and conduct ABG interpretations

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatrics in a medical-surgical and telemetry unit.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data to recognize and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments, including post-procedure care for cardiac interventions and respiratory management.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
• Assist with minor on-unit procedures and the management of various tubes (e.g., chest tubes, feeding tubes).
• Participate in rapid response and code situations as required.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 20 hours required
• Pre-approved time off: two days per contract
• Travel experience is required; previous travel experience preferred.
