The Deep Learning group at the Microsoft Research Redmond lab is seeking applicants for 2024 summer research internships in the areas of deep learning, artificial intelligence, and other related fields. Required Qualifications Currently enrolled in a MS or PhD program in Computer Science or a related STEM field. At least 1 year of experience (Coursework or Project) with Machine Learning and Deep Learning. At least 2 years of experience with mathematical modelling for practical problems. Other Requirements Research Interns are expected to be physically located in their manager’s Microsoft worksite location for the duration of their internship. In addition to the qualifications above, you’ll need to submit a minimum of two reference letters for this position. You may wish to alert your letter writers in advance, so they will be ready to submit your letter. Preferred Qualifications Enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science or a related STEM field. Experience in deep learning foundations, including theories, models, and algorithms. Experience with sequence modeling, Large Language Models (LLM), multimodal intelligence, Large Multimodal Models (LMM), and their applications to natural language processing and computer vision tasks. Experience with neuro‑symbolic reasoning and neural program synthesis. The base pay range for this internship is- Applied Sciences IC2 : USD $5,090 -$10,120 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, with the San Francisco Bay area and New York City Metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $6,690 -$11,030 per month. The base pay range for this internship is- Applied Sciences IC3 : USD $6,290 -$12,170 per month. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Franscisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $8,060 - $13, 240 per month.
