Director of Operations

Location Tucson, AZ (relocation package provided + dedicated support for housing, schooling, etc.) Compensation $180,000 - $220,000 base annual + 20% bonus OVERVIEW A large utility provider in the Southwest is seeking a Director of Operations to build and lead a newly established Operations Portfolio Management organization within the company. This individual will report directly into the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and oversee six Managers and their respective teams, driving operational excellence, portfolio governance, and project execution. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader that is passionate about strengthening project and program management while partnering closely with executive leadership to deliver strategic business objectives. Responsibilities Include: Drive enterprise-wide project and program management best practices across utility operations. Oversee portfolio planning, prioritization, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and project delivery. Partner with leaders across Energy Delivery, Generation, Transmission, and Energy Resources to ensure successful execution of critical initiatives. Champion Operational Excellence, Lean methodologies, and continuous improvement efforts. Develop performance metrics and predictive insights to improve project outcomes and organizational effectiveness. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and execution. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business Administration or related 10+ years of relevant experience leading operations in engineering, utilities, or construction organizations 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing program leaders and teams PMP Certification is required Proven experience in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and practices Strong executive presence with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels Compensation $180,000 - $220,000 base annual + 20% bonus.
