Early Intervention Service Coordinator (S)The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), in collaboration with its partners, protects the health and safety of all North Carolinians and provides essential human services. DHHS has established a new Division of Child and Family Well-Being that focuses on supporting whole child and family health and well-being for North Carolinians. This division works to ensure that North Carolina's children grow up safe, healthy and thriving in nurturing and resilient families and communities. It will bring together complementary programs from the Divisions of Public Health, Mental Health, and Social Services to maximize services and outcomes for children and their families, including nutrition programs (SNAP, WIC and Child and Adult Care Food Program), health and prevention services for children and youth, children's behavioral health services, and early intervention programs. The primary purpose of this position is to provide direct service coordination for children in the NC Infant-Toddler Program and to provide supports to their families/caregivers. Service coordination is a critical service that is helpful for families/caregivers, and it is also required by the federal law, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Services provided through the NC ITP must be compliant with the IDEA, federal regulations, and State policies and procedures. This position as an Early Intervention Service Coordinator for children, birth to three, is located within the catchment area of the Children's Developmental Services Agency (CDSA) of the Cape Fear. This position will be located in the Lumberton office and serve children in and the surrounding areas (Robeson Co, Cumberland Co., Bladen Co., & Sampson Co). Duties include working with families and providers to develop functional Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), work with multi-disciplinary teams to determine families' needs for supports and services, conduct home visits, coordinate, and facilitate services and transition planning, and participate in the authorization and monitoring of early intervention services.Salary Range: $37,377 -$65,408Recruitment Range: $37,377- $52,572Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred.• Experience working with children in the age range 0-5 and their families, including children with developmental delays.• Demonstrated knowledge of young child development.• Experience working with and collaborating with families, community organizations, and other agencies.Management Preferences:• Knowledge of coaching interaction styles and adult learning principles.• Experience working with infants, toddlers and their families using research-informed and/or evidence-based practices for the provision of early intervention services.• Experience developing treatment and/or outcomes-based plans, setting goals, planning, writing and measuring outcomes for children and their families• Good written and oral communication skills• Attention to detail and the ability to manage time independentlyMust be able to drive and travel by car across the CDSA's defined catchment area.Posting closes at 11:59 p.m. the night before the end dateThe State of North Carolina offers excellent comprehensive benefits.
