PsychiatristCorpus Christi - Corpus Christi, TX 78418South Texas Mental Health Associates in Corpus Christi, Texas, is seeking to add a dedicated and compassionate psychiatrist to our growing mental health team. We provide comprehensive patient-oriented care to address mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, ADHD, schizophrenia, and more. Join us in 2026 and enjoy a $50,000 signing bonus!The ideal candidate will possess a strong psychopharmacology and behavioral health background, with experience in outpatient settings. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients, including those with developmental disabilities and addiction issues. The psychiatrist will conduct diagnostic evaluations, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.ResponsibilitiesThis position will be 50% inpatient and 50% outpatient work, with one required weekend per month and two holidays per year.Inpatient responsibilities include:Managing a team of two nurse practitionersCompleting psychiatric evaluations and discharges during the week (4 per day, on average)Attending treatment team meetingsCall is 4 weekdays per month (one per week) and 1 weekend per monthOutpatient responsibilities include:Half-day of clinic in the afternoonPsychiatric evaluations for medication managementFollow-up medication management appointmentsAppointment times are flexible and based on provider preferenceAdditional opportunities available:TMS mapping (training provided)Overseeing ketamine program (training provided)Additional weekend coverage for increased payQualificationsQualifications:Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in psychiatry.Board certified or board eligible with plan to take boards within 3 years.Experience in child & adolescent psychiatry is a plus.Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and practices.Familiarity with outpatient psychiatric care settings.Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.Commitment to compassionately providing high-quality patient care.Benefits:Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance401(k) retirement plan with company matchHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceHealth savings account optionLife insuranceFlexible schedulePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceReferral programAbout Corpus Christi:Located on the Gulf of Mexico, the sun shines most of the year in Corpus Christi.
