Position Summary
We are seeking a talented Floral Designer who shares our commitment to quality, customer service, and artistic expression. If you’re passionate about making a meaningful impact through floral design, we’d love to hear from you.

In addition to hands-on design, this role supports shop operations that span two locations. You’ll coordinate and travel between our Fridley shop and the White Bear Lake region as needed, contribute to weekend coverage when required, and bring a creative yet structured approach to organizing work, timelines, and people.

 
Key Responsibilities

• Design floral arrangements following established recipes and create custom arrangements within budget and available product.
• Create arrangements for various occasions, including funerals and events.
• Assist walk-in customers with selecting and customizing floral designs.
• Provide outstanding customer service via phone, answering questions, taking orders, and advising on floral pieces.
• Support general shop operations, including processing flowers, managing the cooler, caring for plants, and general cleaning.

Operational & Leadership (role-enhancing expectations):

• Coordinate work and travel between Fridley and the White Bear Lake region to support daily operations, deliveries, and event needs.
• Monitor and manage perishable inventory (ordering, rotation, cooler standards) to minimize waste while meeting demand.
• Help plan the day: organize your own tasks, assist teammates in prioritizing theirs, and follow through against deadlines.
• Support delivery logistics (staging, timing, special-handling notes) to ensure on-time, high-quality customer experiences.
• Serve as a steady, others-first teammate who can step into light shift-lead responsibilities when needed (communication, quality checks, pace).
• Bring both creativity and structure—turn design goals and event briefs into clear plans, timelines, and execution. 

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in floral design.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle a fast-paced work environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Experience & Attributes (highly valued):

• Experience managing perishable inventory in a floral, grocery, or food-service setting.
• Team lead or supervisory experience (assigning tasks, coaching, quality control) in a retail or production environment.
• Logistics awareness—comfortable coordinating deliveries, staging orders, and meeting tight timelines.
• Proven organization and deadline discipline; able to create and follow daily plans while helping others do the same.
• Ability to travel between the Fridley shop and the White Bear Lake region as part of the weekly schedule.
• Creative, structured thinker who thrives in both design and operational execution.
