Tool And Die Maker - Setup Technician - 2nd ShiftTool and die makers are skilled crafters working in a manufacturing industry. Our tool and die makers work in production and also run a line. You're skilled craftspeople who typically learn their trade through a combination of academic coursework and with substantial period of on-the-job training that is functionally an apprenticeship. You make jigs, fixtures, dies, gauges, machine tools other tools used in manufacturing processes.Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of tools and diesDesign and build tools and jigs using various machines and toolsInspect finished tools and dies for accuracy and qualityRepair and maintain existing tools and diesCollaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve tool/die and roll forming issuesEnsure that all tools and dies meet safety standardsMaintain accurate records of tool and die maintenance and repairsSet up and install dies in press machines according to specificationsSet coils on mandrel and feed up and in to dieAdjust and align dies and roll forming cassettes for optimal operation and product qualityConduct trial runs after die setup to ensure proper functioning and outputInspect tooling and equipment before and after use to detect defects or wearRecommend minor repairs and maintenance on dies and related machineryWork closely with machine operators, maintenance staff, and quality control to support production goalsTroubleshoot die and press problems to minimize downtimeOperate overhead craneYou're also responsible for running the production lineQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a Tool and Die Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent experience as a maintenance technician, welding technician, tool technician, die maintenance technicianProficiency in reading blueprints and schematicsExperience using various machines and tools, including lathes, grinders, and milling machinesAbility to lift and move heavy objectsProven experience as a Die Setter or similar role in a manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with stamping presses or other die-based/production systemsAbility to read, understand and complete and setup sheetsStrong mechanical aptitude and attention to detailExperience overhead craneUnderstanding of print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished partAbility to prepare and run complex bend setups and roll forming operationsWhat do we offer you?PTO, sick leave, 11 US paid holidaysMedical (currently BlueCross BlueShield), Dental and Vision Insurance, including Family coverage, all currently 90% Company paidCompany paid Short- and Long-Term Disability InsuranceCompany Paid Life InsuranceCompany Paid Accidental Death & Dismemberment401K with employer match, currently 4%Partial Tuition Reimbursement after 12 monthsGross SalaryTobacco Free CampusWorking hours: Full time - Monday to Friday AM or PM hours availableEEOStow US provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment.
