Junior Information Security Analyst

About the Role Our client, a progressive financial services provider based in Welkom, Free State , is actively seeking to recruit a motivated Junior Information Security Analyst. You will work closely with senior security team members to monitor security systems, respond to incidents, and assist in implementing security measures. Key Responsibilities Monitor security alerts and system logs for suspicious activities. Assist in the investigation and response to security incidents under guidance. Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools and technologies. Perform routine security checks and vulnerability scanning tasks. Help develop and update security documentation and procedures. Participate in security awareness training for staff. Assist with user access reviews and identity management processes. Stay informed about emerging security threats and vulnerabilities. Contribute to security reporting and analysis. Collaborate with IT support teams on security-related issues. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent vocational training and experience. 0-2 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or a related security role. Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including networking, operating systems, and common security threats. Familiarity with security tools such as antivirus, firewalls, and basic SIEM concepts is a plus. Strong eagerness to learn and develop expertise in information security. Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills. Good verbal and written communication abilities.Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions carefully. Proficiency with common office productivity software. Must be able to work from Welkom, Free State on a hybrid basis.
