Are you a cosmetology student, recent cosmetology graduate, or future licensed hair stylist ready to turn your education into a career?

American Salon Group is hiring motivated Stylists in Training who want hands-on salon experience, professional development, and the opportunity to transition into a licensed Hair Stylist position once licensing requirements are completed.

This is more than a typical salon assistant position. Our Stylist in Training program is designed to help future beauty professionals gain real-world salon experience while learning the customer service, retail, technical, and business skills needed to build a successful career behind the chair. If you're passionate about hair, beauty, cosmetology, customer service, and building a clientele, we want to meet you!

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN & DO

As a Stylist in Training, you will gain valuable experience in the day-to-day operation of a professional hair salon, including: • Shadowing experienced professional Hair Stylists • Learning salon operations and guest service standards • Greeting clients and creating a welcoming salon experience • Answering phones and assisting with salon inquiries • Learning salon services, pricing, products, and promotions • Helping educate guests on salon services and professional haircare products • Building confidence in retail product recommendations and sales • Learning how successful stylists build and retain a clientele • Assisting with front desk and point-of-sale (POS) responsibilities • Scheduling and supporting the guest experience • Participating in salon training and education • Watching professional training and technique videos • Performing supervised services on models when permitted • Assisting with salon cleanliness, organization, stocking, and product displays • Attending salon meetings and participating as part of the salon team.

YOUR PATH TO BECOMING A HAIR STYLIST

Once you obtain your Cosmetology License and demonstrate proficiency in the role, you may have the opportunity to interview for a permanent Hair Stylist position with American Salon Group. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to go from cosmetology school to working behind the chair with the support of an established salon organization.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:

• Is currently attending cosmetology school OR recently graduated from a cosmetology program • Is working toward obtaining a valid Cosmetology License • Can obtain the required cosmetology license within 90 days of hire, as applicable • Has a passion for hair, beauty, fashion, and the salon industry • Provides excellent customer service • Is friendly, outgoing, professional, and dependable • Is comfortable talking with clients and recommending products and services • Wants to learn, grow, and develop professionally • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills • Can work independently and as part of a salon team • Has basic computer and point-of-sale skills • Is available for a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed • Is reliable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
