Encompass Medical Group is currently recruiting for a full time Laboratory Manager. The Laboratory Manager plans, manages, and supervises the activities of a centralized laboratory. Performs standard biological, microbiological, and chemical tests in all areas of medical laboratory utilizing proper safety and OSHA precautions.

Position Accountabilities:

• Performs chemical, microscopic and bacteriological tests to provide data for use treatment and diagnosis of disease
• Receives specimens from lab and makes quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis
• Prepares stains, reagents, media and solutions necessary for the performance of all laboratory tests
• Performs approved serological tests
• Supervises the work of laboratory personnel engaged in performing routine and specialized technical procedures
• Develop and implement quality control programs to ensure reliability of testing procedures, proper function of laboratory equipment in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Maintains proper laboratory accreditations
• Develops monthly personnel schedules in order to maintain adequate laboratory efficiency
• Supervises purchase of supplies to maintain adequate inventories
• Evaluates staff performance
• Helps with annual budget to maintain control of laboratory costs
• Ensures that all laboratory accreditation standards are met and compliant
• Performs other duties as requested or assigned

Job Specifications:

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology/clinical laboratory science. or in a related science and completion of a medical technology clinical practice program
• Certification as a Medical Technologist by an accrediting agency is required

• 1 year of laboratory supervisory experience required

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

• Maintain OSHA regulations
• Maintain dress code as specified by Office Manager
• Assist in patient movement as needed
• Moving small equipment
• May be required to travel to other offices throughout the Kansas City metro
• Lifting and moving medical supplies
• Keep facility free of potential hazardous conditions to protect patients or co-workers from slip, fall or other harmful outcomes
• Handling bio-hazard substance(s)
