This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Part-Time Senior Construction Engineer for our Cincinnati, Ohio office. Be involved in projects with our CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges

Your Impact

• Monitor project progress against schedule and budget
• Identify and manage potential risks
• Review contractor submittals, change orders and recommend approvals
• Oversee quality control and safety compliance
• Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues
• Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation
• Facilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors
• Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings
• Analyze project data to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Provide recommendations for project adjustments as needed
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant construction experience
• Experience leading projects and inspectors
• Experience with utility construction, building construction and/or basic mechanical equipment
• A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents
• Deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
• Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working as an Resident Engineer on underground utility replacement and building construction
• Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
