About the Position

Take advantage of an exciting Pediatric Hospitalist locum tenens opportunity in Potsdam, New York , beginning January 2027. This travel assignment offers a flexible 24-hour call schedule with approximately 5–7 shifts per month and potential for ongoing coverage. Providers may remain out of the hospital when there are no acute issues while remaining available for rapid response.

This opportunity provides diverse pediatric clinical exposure across newborn nursery care, high-risk deliveries, ER consultations, and pediatric inpatient coverage . Multiple consecutive 24-hour shifts may be available based on coverage needs, making this an excellent opportunity for physicians seeking schedule flexibility and meaningful clinical practice.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour pediatric call coverage from 7:00 AM–7:00 AM .
• Provide care in the newborn nursery and pediatric inpatient unit .
• Attend and support high-risk deliveries , including stabilization and resuscitation of critically ill newborns pending transport.
• Provide ER pediatric consultations .
• Remain within 20 minutes of the hospital while on call and return as needed for patient care.

Qualifications

• Board Certified Pediatrician required.
• New York State medical license in hand required.
• NRP, PALS, and BLS certifications required.
• Epic experience required.
• AHA or RQI certifications required.
• Residents and fellows cannot be accepted.
• Updated work history required with no gaps of 30+ days .
• If malpractice is involved, a physician statement is required.
• CV must be agency branded at the time of submittal .

Working Hours

• 24-hour call shifts
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Approximately 5–7 shifts per month
• Weekday and weekend coverage required
• Schedule expected to continue for 3 months and ongoing
• Multiple consecutive 24-hour shifts may be available
• 4 hours gratis if called in for patient care
• OT and holiday coverage paid at 1.25× the regular rate
