Job Responsibilities

• Develop Tailored Treatment Plans: Assess each patient's unique needs and craft individualized therapy strategies to facilitate their functional goals.
• Implement Therapeutic Techniques: Apply research-supported approaches to enhance patients' motor abilities, cognitive functions, and daily living skills.
• Collaborate with Diverse Teams: Work in tandem with fellow OTs, PTs, STs, physicians, and nursing staff to provide holistic care that encompasses every aspect of the patient's wellbeing.
• Educate Patients and Their Families: Guide patients and their loved ones in therapy techniques that sustain progress long after treatment sessions conclude.
• Track and Adapt Treatments: Monitor patient developments and amend treatment plans as necessary, ensuring they remain on the path to recovery.

Education Requirements

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution is mandatory.
• Opportunities for continuing education and advanced certifications are encouraged and supported.

Certification Requirements

• Active Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) license is essential.
• NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification is a requirement.
