Medical Accounts Receivable Collector Hybrid – Los Angeles, CA Base Pay: $24.00/hr – $26.00/hr (based on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Contract to hire) Addison Group is actively recruiting on behalf of a well-respected healthcare organization for a Medical Accounts Receivable Collector . This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a mission-driven organization focused on delivering high-quality care. Job Description The AR Collector will support insurance follow-up and revenue recovery functions, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement from commercial and government payors. This individual will work a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM schedule. Key Responsibilities Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and patient accounts to ensure full resolution and payment. Review and correct accounts with improper coding or misapplied payments. Resolve denied or rejected claims by initiating appeals or resubmitting corrected claims. Conduct account audits to verify balances, correct errors, and secure complete reimbursement. Respond to inbound and outbound correspondence, calls, and web-based inquiries regarding account status. Identify and resolve issues related to overpayments, adjustments, and necessary refunds. Document actions and communications thoroughly within the system. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any discrepancies affecting reimbursement. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in business, finance, or healthcare a plus. Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing, collections, or insurance follow-up. Familiarity with commercial insurance and Managed Medi-Cal strongly preferred. Strong understanding of EOBs, CPT/ICD coding, and claim processing. Proficient in Epic EMR system or similar platforms. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment. Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
