Bilingual Customer Service Representative I – Staten Island, NY This role assists New York Medicaid recipients navigate healthcare options, access services, and make informed choices about their coverage. The representative will provide both face‑to‑face and telephone support, guiding individuals through enrollment, explaining managed care plan options, and delivering compassionate service. Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Position Details Full‑time, onsite position in an LDSS/HRA office in Staten Island, NY Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Comprehensive health and wellness benefits (included in the total compensation package) Responsibilities Foster strong customer relationships and monitor engagement. Collaborate regularly with customers to attain program goals and sustain eligibility. Conduct workshops and deliver training to customers. Provide program knowledge from enrollment to benefit allocation. Aid customers in accessing services such as educational, medical, childcare, transportation, mental health, and legal support. Follow up to ensure needs are met and address queries. Collaborate with team members to resolve participant issues. Maintain accurate and timely case notes for all interactions. Share updates on outreach and engagement with project staff. Report barriers hindering customer engagement with the provider. Maintain professional relationships with HRA/LDSS county staff and clients. Assist call center operations and other departments as required. Participate in processing units within the Outreach department: EEU, data entry, and manual notices. Conduct shadowing and training activities with new hires. Work on assigned special projects. Maintain an active Certified Application Counselor (CAC) certification. Perform CAC tasks in select counties. Stay updated on the New York Medicaid Choice Project. Meet all performance standards and bonus criteria. Perform other duties assigned by management. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED; 0–6 months of relevant experience. Fluency in English and Spanish (spoken, read, and written). Prior experience in customer service, data entry, or data processing. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Preferred Requirements Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word). 2+ years of customer service or related experience. Experience with New York Medicaid.
