Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms. Job Summary:
What You'll Do:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for chemistry testing
- Support and guide lab staff with training, troubleshooting, and daily operations
- Review and validate test results to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Monitor quality control trends and implement improvements
- Lead method validations and ensure regulatory compliance (CLIA/CAP)
- Oversee inventory, ordering, and supply management
- Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of lab analyzers
- Support hiring, training, and performance feedback for team members
- Participate in inspections and continuous process improvement
- Strong experience in clinical chemistry
- Proven attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lead, train, and support a team
- Knowledge of lab regulations and accreditation standards
- Education: Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or a related field.
- Experience: Five (5) years of laboratory experience performing complex testing.
- License(s)/Certification(s): Current license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist from a state licensing agency OR Current board certification from MT-ASCP or CLS-NCA
- All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to start of employment.
